The Neighborhood Leadership Institute is program of the
Danville-Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce. It represents a true community collaboration. Our primary partners to date are:
 |
United Way of Danville-Pittsylvania County -
United Way is a community impact organization focused on 5 key areas of community impact, one of which is the strengthening of neighborhoods. With a United Way seed grant, the NLI was able to establish our presence, and sponsor our inaugural INNOVATIVE LEADERSHIP class. Focused on results, United Way is directly involved with the planning of the NLI activities, and will assist in measuring the outcomes of the program, including the number of new neighborhood associations formed, increase in grassroots leadership engagement, and various enhancements to specific neighborhoods.
|
 |
Virgnia Cooperative Extension -
Cooperative Extension provides the core leadership training that drives the NLI. INNOVATIVE LEADERSHIP is a 6-module series of leadership development sessions, covering a wide array of leadership disciplines at a grass-roots level.
Dr. Martha Walker delivers a powerful, effective leadership
development series designed to be engaging and inspiring.

The City of Danville

resources to neighborhoods from training to community safety and
crime prevention. The city of Danville Community Development
Department provides volunteers to the program as well as sites to
hold training sessions. |
